Setting up your CraftyJet™ for the first time takes around 30–60 minutes. Follow these steps carefully to ensure the machine is ready to print and to protect the printheads during first use.
Before you start: Have your CraftyJet™ CMYKW inks, DTF film, adhesive powder, and RIP software licence ready. Full documentation is included in the box.
Step 1: Unbox and Position
- Remove all packaging, foam inserts, and protective tape
- Place the CraftyJet™ on a flat, stable surface with clearance at the front and rear for film to feed through
- Keep out of direct sunlight and ensure adequate ventilation
Step 2: Install RIP Software
- Install the RIP software on your computer using the licence included with your machine
- Follow the setup wizard to configure your printer connection (USB or network)
- Set the CraftyJet™ as your default print device within the RIP
Step 3: Fill the Ink System
- Open the ink bay as described in your printed setup guide
- Fill each channel with the correct CraftyJet™ CMYKW ink — match the colour-coded labels carefully
- White ink goes in the dedicated white channel — do not mix with CMYK channels
- Gently invert the white ink bottle a few times before filling — do not shake vigorously
- Run an initial ink charge as prompted by the machine or RIP software to prime the lines
Step 4: Nozzle Check
- Print a nozzle check from your RIP software or the machine's control panel
- All colour bars and the white bar should be solid with no gaps or missing lines
- If lines are missing, run a printhead clean cycle and repeat
- Repeat until the nozzle check is clean before printing on film
Step 5: Test Print
- Load a length of CraftyJet™ Hot Peel 33cm DTF film
- Print a small test design via your RIP software
- Apply adhesive powder to the wet print, shake off excess, and cure in your oven
- Heat press the cured transfer onto a test garment to verify quality
